Does anyone else make custom versions of albums? If so, share them here!
What I mean by this is removing the "filler" from a double album, reworking the track listing, adding in b-sides, cutting an album down to an EP, etc. To some this may be blasphemy, but there are many times when I'm listening to an album and think "they should have done this!" Anyway, I enjoy doing it. Here are some examples of some that I have done:
Say Anything - In Defense of the Genre
Taking Back Sunday - New Again [EP]
Taking Back Sunday - Tell All Your Friends
The Early November - The Mother, The Mechanic, The Path
Thrice - The Alchemy Index
Not really mix tapes, but I figured this was the best forum for this. And I apologize in advance if this thread has been done before.
Looks like a fun idea. Though I haven't thought of doing something like this as often as I used to.
Saosin - Saosin
Just switch the intentionally poor version of "Bury Your Head" with "Let Go Control".
Ted Leo - Living With the Living
1. Fourth World War
2. The Sons of Cain
3. Army Bound
4. Who Do You Love?
5. Colleen
6. A Bottle of Buckie
7. Bomb.Repeat.Bomb
8. La Costa Brava
9. Some Beginner's Mind
Good idea. The label forcing that song onto the album is what's wrong with the music industry. I wish they had recorded "Uphill Battle," too.
First time I appreciated "Uphill Battle" actually. I must've confused that song with another one for a long time. There were some great ideas that were left off the album (the last track of the instrumental demos, for one).

This is a good idea, but there were still a couple more good tracks on that album. How about if SYG had made Burning At Both Ends, got rid of the filler, and then added the two songs they just did with Chad Gilbert

THANK YOU for actually posting in this thread. haha
Such a cool idea to share custom albums and EPs. I can dig what you did with it by the way.

I've got one like this where I tried to trim the track listing up and make the "story" flow a bit better. Only managed to cut two songs though. Like what you did.
