But "rubbish" is subjective. While I'm not much of a fan, Carly Rae is one of those rare pop artists that has jumped genre boundaries as a "guilty pleasure" type that a lot of rock fans have admitted to liking.
Also, this thread is on page 6 while the Abandoned Pools thread has like 3 posts, so that should tell you something.

She needs more than a hit single and a featured guest to be "genre boundary jumping" or apparently all these rock fans you know love. I'll wait til they buying and liking her whole album when it's out. Anyone can dig a catchy single
