Huh, that's interesting. I always thought of them as more of an album band since they seem just OK live. Granted, I've only seen them once, and they were good, but their live show didn't add much to the songs that the recordings don't already have.

Was it a show or a festival? What makes Gaslight shows so good is how everyone is singing/dancing along enjoying themselves. You don't really get that experience at their festival shows. Get them at a venue where everyone is there to see them though and they are one of the best live acts in the business.

First song I heard from them was "Wooderson," on the 2008 Warped Tour Compilation.
I loved it and have kept my eyes on these guys ever since. Well, i guess now it's kind of hard not to.

Also, Brian's recent cover of "Sowing Season," is spot on and proved to be a very enjoyable listen.

.

I think I prefer the build of that middle section in the album version to another verse in this version.

I prefer the album version a lot more than this one. The verse that got cut feels clunky, so I understand the decision to change it.

That's exactly how I discovered Gaslight too! And then I was a genius and got the '59 Sound without checking to see if "Wooderson" was on it. I was pleasantly surprised.

it's still weird that sideone put "wooderson" on that warped comp when the '59 sound was being promoted at that time. hah.

looking back, sideone was pretty goofy at handling that release. ohwell. it paid off!

I'd probably be really let down by Handwritten if most of the songs didn't sync up perfectly with my life right now...but they do, so it's wormed it's way into my heart.

I'm so glad to hear their writing. If they're feeling inspired, why wait? Since American Slang we've been spoiled with itunes live session (which I hope the do again), the horrible crowes (which i don't feel was a one off project), and a contribution to the Bob Dylan tribute, all before releasing another full length with Handwritten. Keep up the good work.

Seen them in Montreal last night for the first time ever and I must say I was impressed. I nearly died when they played Blue Dahlia.

Holy fuck the Grand Rapids show. I just saw them at Riot Fest on Saturday and went to Grand Rapids on Monday to catch them again. Entirely different set and I loved it. Saw Blue Dahlia and Biloxi for the first time.

Highlight was meeting Brian before the show. Friend got a picture, quickly talked and shook his hand. I don't need more than that. He's a great guy.
