why does everyone equate dancy pop music as having no artistic integrity? This is a great song.

I don't think they do....girls just wanna have fun is an amazing song...this on the other hand (in my opinion) is not. I mean they have like 3 producers working on this album, im sure they had a hand in co-writing some of the material and i really think it shows in their new single. I mean does EVERYONE have to add dance elements in their songs these days. Why can't tegan and sara just be tegan and sara?...oh yeah bc they're on a huge label and the music industry is in shambles.

Have you not paid attention to the numerous dance/poppy tracks they've appeared in and/or co-wrote over the years? You're acting like this is totally out of left field. Totally fine if you dislike the song but that doesn't mean it lacks "integrity" or something like that.
