that opening to "Desires" is too good. this is in my top three albums of the year for sure.

How can you not like Cities?

Musically, their best album to date, no doubt.

Lyrically and as a whole, I'll have to spend some more time with it to see how I feel about it compared to their other records.

modern age is easily one of the very best anberlin songs i've ever heard. little tyrants and desires are huge. this album is fantastic

I like New Surrender but it was really weak compared to Cities and NTFP imo and I can definitely understand how someone could like those albums and not like NS.

I was going to wait until I could get something higher fidelity than a stream.... but I couldn't. And oh my lord is this good. Review was right, career defining. I've loved every one of their albums for different reasons, but THIS is Anberlin.

When you use the name of the compilation album your old record label released without your approval in one of your songs, it is undoubtedly about them.

How's it in terms of repetition of lyrics, all? That's what killed Dark for me. Only so many times I can hear "CLOSER CLOSER CLOOOOSSEEERRRRRRRR"/ songs that have two lines in between choruses.

I guess I'm the only one thats not blown away after first listen.
My first impression is you can turn up the guitars and synth as loud as you want, won't matter if the hooks aren't there
Definite improvment on the last one though, I couldnt even get through that in one with one full listen
