Tigers vs Giants has a nice ring to it. two franchises that have been around since 1901 that have only faced eachother 12 times ever....never in a ws obviously...i like it.

Question: Is the local radio relatively supportive of the team? I only ask because local radio here is essentially not. Even when the Yankees were trucking people in May/June, the focus was on how they hit "too many homers" and not on the fact that they were steamrolling teams.

The Valenti and Foster show (the main 2-6 sports talk show here) can be quite pessimistic, but it's usually warranted. Once they made the playoffs, the tone of the show definitely changed to a more positive tone.

Should be a fun series, assuming the Cards get another win. I see it going 6-7 games for sure.

Yeah if the Cards make it I think we're almost guaranteed 7 games. If we fall apart and the Giants squeak by us though there is no reason for you guys not to pull off another clean sweep, especially on almost a week's rest haha

Yup that's right I'm a Cardinals fan and didn't watch the series in 2006.

Seriously though, there are some benefits and drawbacks to having a long break in the playoffs, and I think you know that.

I obviously didn't clarify in my original post, but there are lots of reasons I think the Tigers will sweep the Giants besides simply that they're well-rested. My bad.
