Meanwhile, the Scottish-born, international DJ, producer and hit songwriter is impacting with his new single “Sweet Nothing” out now. Released earlier this month and debuting at #1 across several digital retailers, the track is HARRIS’ sixth single from the album so far and features the acclaimed Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine fame. In addition, 18 MONTHS also includes Rihanna (the international smash hit “We Found Love” which HARRIS wrote and produced for her 2011 album Talk That Talk) and Kelis (“Bounce”), his smash radio track “Feel So Close” and works with Ne-Yo (“Let’s Go”) and Example (“We’ll Be Coming Back”) teaming with HARRIS. There are also songs with guest vocals from the likes of Dizzee Rascal, Ellie Goulding, Tinie Tempah and Ayah, as well as collaborations with DJ/producers Nicky Romero and Dillon Francis. It is the follow-up to HARRIS’ 2009 #1 album Ready For The Weekend.
In other news, CALVIN HARRIS has been nominated for an American Music Award® (AMA) for “Favorite Artist – Electronic Dance Music,” a brand new category this year. The winner will be announced during the 40th American Music Awards® taking place Sunday, November 18 in Los Angeles and will be telecast on ABC and its various online channels. With international album sales of over 3.2 million, singles sales from the tracks taken from 18 MONTHS are already up to 3 million worldwide. In the U.S., “Feel So Close” has already achieved platinum status and “Let’s Go” is not far behind with 850,000+ in sales, all the while remaining on Billboard’s Hot 100—“Feel So Close” peaking at #12 and “Let’s Go” at #17—and receiving heavy play on Top 40 stations across the country.
