I just thought it sounded like B-sides from Constellations. The slow parts they injected into the songs showed that they're trying to grow, but it was too much of a juxtaposition. Songs like Internal Cannon and Cutting the Ties just totally stop and go into a slow, melodic part. If they had put more thought into crafting those elements into the songs, I may have liked it better. Plus I think the lyrics were absolutely awful on Leveler, for the most part.

I guess I'm being way too hard on it now that I read what I'm saying haha. Its not terrible, its just not what I wanted it to be. I have let it grow on me a little though.

yeah I can totally understand how those elements might turn people off. I'm not a big lyric guy myself, but I loved it musically. there were a few songs I thought were rather boring, but it also contains some of my now-favorite ABR songs like Salt & Light and Empire. either way, I can't wait to hear whatever they do next

Because parkway is and always has been bland. Being on all the weekly breakdown compilation youtube videos uploaded by 14 year old scenesters does not give you metal cred.

I dont get why any of you are hating on ABR for this. THey did this for fun and something for their fans who have been asking for a xmas album. Calm the fuck down. I think its awesome
