We're Venna - a part time, working class, husband and wife band from the Midwest who write songs we'd like to hear other people sing to us.
Sometimes our friends Andrew Wulf, Ryan Price and Dustin Currier (among others) join us and play along with their various instruments and we generally have a pretty good time.
So feel free to pour a glass of whatever it is you drink and enjoy some songs. Sing along if you want. Knowing the words is not required.

Message from Marky about the release:
Quote:
My name is Marky and about 10 years ago I met a girl named Heather. We started playing songs together and eventually got married and had kids. The music never stopped, and while I went and focused on my other band and we both worked on raising our family, she kept collecting songs in notebooks and hand held tape recorders. We'd find whatever time we could to play these songs for people and eventually we'd trick some of our friends into playing and recording them with us. We called this project Venna and it has been one of the most healthy relationships in my ever-changing life.
I'm excited and nervous to announce that we have a new collection of these songs for you to hear. I'm nervous because these songs are more than just recordings... they represent our lives and all of the stuff that comes along with navigating family, work, marriage and band-life in the same space. It's difficult. But (at least in my opinion) Heather writes these beautifully honest working-class hymns that deserve to be heard, and so we spend every spare second figuring that out, even when it doesn't make sense. These songs sound much the same way on this recording that they did when she first played them in our living room a year or two ago. They are our kids, our work, our lives... all the extra bits that we had to spare, and now they're ready for you to judge. It would mean the world to us for you to invest your time in them and also in us.
I still think Heather is as brilliant as when I first met her. She thinks I'm a sucker for a slow song with sentimental lyrics. I just know I'm lucky enough to be in a band with my favorite song writer (who also happens to be the love of my life) as well as some of my closest friends. I hope you like our music as much as I do. Help us support what we love about life. Thanks.
I listened to this album for the majority of today, and I am in absolute love with it. I sincerely think people 'round here will be able to get into this. If you haven't checked the single/video yet, you can view at either of the below links:
Played this again for the first time in a few weeks. Still so amazing. Definitely among my favorite releases so far. Anyone going to the show coming up?
