I've had this debate a few times before with some friends. Just wondering what movies you think were completely ruined by the use of CGI?

The Thing sequel. Movie already pretty bad, but the icing on the cake was the crappy CGI on the aliens. Really destroys the spirit of the original which was already well known for its practical special effects.

Totally agree with both of these. One that always comes to my mind is I Am Legend. Movie would be incredible if they used actors for the monsters. I'm not scared of CGI haha

I was going to say I Am Legend, but I still enjoyed the movie a lot.

Snakes on a Plane had some awfully fake-looking snakes.

There was no redeeming it in the first place but all the CGI made the Star Wars prequels even worse.
