This exactly. I don't know what (McTernan, mabye?), but something is definitely lacking from the latest two records. I only liked two or three tracks off Violent Waves and their first two albums are two definite top 50 records for me.

that's just a bonus posted for free, a nice touch as always and that's all.. And yes, music is subjective, as for me every single one of their albums is amazing, and On Letting Go is one of the records of my lifetime... The last record is very solid as well, really an outstanding band that is! that's my subjective opinion.

before blue sky noise, i couldn't stand anthony's voice. really like everything he's been on since.

Songs are fine. Kinda boring but fine for a song to put on a few times a year. Although Anthony's voice is overpowering in the Jingle Bell Rock cover. Also I find it funny that he does a harmony for like 2 notes and that's it.

I can really get into "On Letting Go" and "Blue Sky Noise" but for me Juturna has this awesome ambient sound. Like the chorus of "We're All Thieves", still my favorite song they've written. And I do agree with the vocals, they are completely different in the mix and his melodies are not how we got to Anthony.

Correct. These sound like really band garage band covers too.

I love this band, but I feel like as they progressed with each of their albums, Blue Sky Noise was the top of that growth. It was the most mature and best sounding record they've put out. At least in comparison to Violent Waves. BSN hit me and stuck with me the moment it came out. I haven't been able to get into Violent Waves as much. I'm curious to see how much longer they are at it. Especially with a lot of them starting families and such.

Violent Waves was good, but On Letting Go and Blue Sky Noise were far better.
