Nearly the whole way through yellow, and I have to say I think this is the best Baroness album yet. Different parts of the same song remind me of Brand New, Iron Maiden, Explosions in the Sky, Camel, Coheed and Cambria, Yes, Mewithoutyou, Mastodon and old school Baroness as well. There's a lot of different genres at play here as well as metal (post-hardcore, NWOBHM, indie rock, 70's prog rock, post rock). I heard this album made the top 40 in America, and if they promote this right, they could get a lot bigger without having to compromise their sound as I can see people who listen to Mars Volta, Coheed and Cambria, Porcupine Tree, even conventional post-hardcore and alternative stuff getting into this in a way they wouldn't to blue and red.
I guess at some point I'm going to have to stop re-listening to things and just make a final AOTY list, but this is like the third record this year that I didn't listen to a lot and have loved immensely upon revisiting. So much good stuff this year.
