They finally took the leap! I love that they have finally committed to pushing their sound forward and making it work in new ways. This album will no doubt be hated by the people who wanted them to revisit "Is This It", but anyone that's willing to accept that they aren't interested in taking that path should really enjoy this album. "Tap Out" and "Welcome To Japan" are new-wave perfection. And "80's Comedown Machine" and "Call It Fate, Call It Karma" are both hauntingly beautiful. I'm LOVING this album!
yea really surprised how much i love this, especially after listening to the clips on amazon last night. extrmemely happy with this. like i said in the other thread, its pure 80's. and "Call it Fate, Call it Karma" is the least Strokes-esque song ever, and its probably my least favorite, but it sounds like a grower.
