Producer Ed Rose to Quit The Production Business

Posted by: Jason Tate (03/29/13)
Ed Rose (producer of The Get Up Kids, Motion City Soundtrack, Reggie and The Full Effect, and many more) is quitting music production after the 2013 calendar year, and putting Black Lodge Recordings up for sale.
It's been a great ride but 2013 will be my last year for making records. I'm incredibly thankful to all the musicians that have allowed me to be part of their recordings and will fondly look back at all the great music and friends I've made along the way. I'm excited to see what 2013 has in store and to see what's next. Get in touch with me asap to set up time. I hope to see some old friends and make some new ones during this last run. Bands in Scotland, England, Germany and Japan - fly me over to work on your project and get a massive discount on my rate.

He has done some pretty good stuff, but I certainly wish him the best. Glad he is in a position to get out and do whatever he would like.

This is a huge bummer. One of my life's dreams was to record with him. Regardless, I hope someone capable buys his studio and puts it to good use.

good for him getting out.. ive been trying for years now. studio work is equally rewarding and hell on earth. studio game aint what it used to be. no one wants to drop $300k anymore, not even $30k.. stupid kids need to buy more records so we can keep our jobs....

I was coming in here to say this.

So many great bands and records have received this guy's midas touch. Thanks for everything, Ed!
