Iíve left AM!. No drama here. I reached a point where I need to focus on other things. Respect to Laura and James. The last 10 years ruled. -Andrew
Itís been an honor and privilege to stand on stage with Andrew for the past 10 years. I am sad to see him go, but I wish nothing but the best for him moving forward. Ė James
Itís heartbreaking to know that Andrew wonít be standing next to me out on stage the next time I stand upon one. I realize that at this point thereís a possibility that it may look pretty ridiculous to carry on playing under the name Against Me! If I didnít feel like I had something that I really needed to say with the album weíve been working on for the past year then Iíd humbly hang the hat and move on. Andrewís been a solid partner. Some of the best sleep Iíve ever gotten has been in the back of a 15 passenger van with him behind the wheel. Heís got a steady hand and has always been someone Iíve trusted. The definition of a good friend. I wish him all the best in his journey. -LJ
I'm wondering if they'll break up once the new album's touring cycle is through :/. Laura seems committed to that album, but her (admittedly brief) statement doesn't really address the future of the band after that.
I just want to hear this record. I wonder if anyone is making a documentary covering this band from when Laura's news broke to the eventual release of the record... would make for a great story, especially if this album is as good as I hope it will be.
From everything I've heard from the album played live and the few conversations I've had with Laura at shows I'm perfectly OK with this being their Swan Song. It is a very fitting album to end such a career on.
As sad as it would be to see AM! go, it would be cool if this album is awesome and it's their swan song. And it's not like she'll stop putting out/playing music. I could see her going the Andrew McMahon route
