Sleeping With Sirens Sells Nearly 60,000 Units, Debuts...
|Updating our previous post projecting sales numbers of Sleeping With Sirens' new album, Feel, the final numbers have come in and the album sold 59,000 units in its debut week. That was good enough to place it at No. 3 on the Billboard charts, behind Queens of the Stone Age's debut week and Daft Punk's strong second week of Random Access Memories. The debut marks the band's best sales week and Rise Records' highest debut total ever. Congrats to the band and their entire team!|
Coming in at No. 3 is a new arrival from rock act “Sleeping With Sirens,” which scores its best sales week and highest-charting album ever with “Feel.” The album debuts with 59,000 sold. Twenty-seven percent of the set’s first week consisted of physical albums sold through Internet retailers, fueled by a strong pre-order campaign for the effort.
The band’s last set, 2011’s “Let’s Cheer to This,” debuted and peaked at No. 17 off an 18,000 start (its previous best week). Its first album, 2010’s “With Ears to See and Eyes to Hear,” didn’t chart on the Billboard 200, but did reach No. 7 on our developing artists tally, Heatseekers Albums.

With this new album, I feel ashamed to say that I used to be a fan of this band. I'll still listen to their first two albums occasionally, but it's been tainted.

Denning's gotta go back to stats 101.

that is damn insane. i can get into a few tracks off the album, but the bad songs are really bad. congrats nonetheless. it'll be interesting to see second week numbers and to see how they keep this momentum going.

this album sucks. There are a couple of good songs but then there is:
"It's not who I wanna be
But I won't apologize
For being different
I can, can be who I am"
and I really liked their first two.

It's a good (great) accomplishment for any band to do this. I have no interest in them, but that's really cool for them. Congrats to them and Rise.

Rise / SWS were smart to do the golden ticket sweepstakes for this album since the album was not that good.

Gnarly. Congrats to the band, and to Rise. Not a huge fan, but bands that sell a ton of records enable Rise to release a lot of other records that I enjoy.
