Today marks the 11th anniversary of The Swellers being a band. Drummer Jono Diener wrote about the occasion in his blog. He's also our featured guest on this week's upcoming AbsolutePunk Podcast, so stay tuned for that.
We were never a hype band or blew up, but we’ve been slowly climbing up for years. We’re still very much here. If anything it’s time to take another swing at things. 8 months at home was too much for me. I don’t think I can do that again, or at least not for a while. Maybe we’ve been around a long time but it doesn’t mean we’re close to being done. I think we’re better than ever. We just need someone to listen and fight for us.
This band means so much to me. They've definitely had a crazy ride the past 11 years but I feel like they're exactly where they should be right now. They should get to where they're supposed to be soon!
That's insane that they've been around for that long. I guess I just kind of assumed they were newer because I saw them open for Fireworks / Transit / Man Overboard maybe four years ago to about 10 people.
