Yes.
(Not necessarily recommending it OVER Pro Tools but it is still great. I wouldn't put one over the other.)

I literally bought Logic 3 weeks ago.

I wonder if they'll upgrade me for a discount ... might as well try.

Hopefully it doesn't suck as bad as Final Cut X did.

i agree that's kind of annoying (especially because it's the same price), but from the looks of it, X doesn't appear to be an essential upgrade.

they buffed their pitchshifting, drum machines, and synths with this version because everyone uses 3rd party plugins for those.

people are still probably going to use 3rd party plug ins regardless, it's all a matter of personal preference.

nevertheless, let me know what they say, because while i'm not gonna pay another 200 bucks for this new version, i would consider it if it were discounted.

Logic Pro X still has all of the same professional-level features as its predecessor, but also adds some new high-end abilities. In addition, Apple has made the software more approachable to new users with features like Smart Controls (we’ll talk about this later), without taking away any ability for pros to dig down into the plug-ins, preferences or controls

Doesn't look that way.

Logic is my preference over pro tools. A lot of its design and gui are very logical(get it) and how you expect them to be.
