ABSOLUTExclusive: Vela Ceras Single Premiere

Posted by - 11:30 AM on 10/10/13
AP100 artist Vela Ceras is poised to be an upcoming favorite among AP.net's community. Today we're premiering their first single "New Providence" off their upcoming album Losing Touch, out sometime this winter and produced by Roy Mitchell-Cardenas of Mutemath. It should come as no surprise that there are huge Mutemath vibes, be they in the funky percussive lines, the strut of sweet guitar riffs, or some fat bass tones. Did I mention a few Mutemath members guest feature their piano and organ playing talents? To add onto that, the single is the first to introduce a pop-oriented direction in rhythm and structure that calls to mind a mix of Two Door Cinema Club and Phantogram, marking a new and welcomed beginning for the band. Be the first to stream the catchy, greaser-esque single in the replies and let us hear your thoughts!

They've changed their sound like what 3 times now? Everything they do has been pretty good so far though.

I'd say as far as recorded music goes they have 2 different sounds. Both work well for them but they've never been catchier and they still manage to be pretty intricate in their new material

Song opens up nicely, and the description was spot on. Prefer this to recent Mute Math material.
