it's a 1600 seat arena right now. SO small.

The basketball arena seats 3300, I believe. It's a relatively small school though, I think only 3000 total.

Yeah. I think Bemidji State is even smaller school (like 1100 students, I think) and they just got approved for a new rink.

But basically when it comes to that conference, I'm rooting for Wayne State to destroy everyone in there. Too bad they, uh, suck. And that's putting it nicely.

The thing with Niagara is, even if I transfer out next fall (it's a very real possibility), I'll always cheer for them because I've done so all my life...so I really hope they keep improving that rink and get into the ECAC or something.

Yeah, for sure. Like, I love WMU and Michigan State, but when they play each other i'll always root for WMU because their campus is here in town and that's the first college team I ever got interested in. Then Michigan State followed close behind because my entire family .... doesn't like Michigan.

Yeah. I love going to WMU hockey games because the rink seats like 3600 (all plastic benches, no individual seats) and like 1400 of the 3600 is the student section which is basicall one whol side of the rink. and they used to have the band there to play the fight song and they all stand and shit (they've since quit using the band in the stands) and CCHA players always say that Yost Ice Arena, where Michigan plays is the hardest rink to play in but Western is consistently #2 in the league in terms of being tough to play in.

Niagara completed the weekend sweep of Alabama-Huntsville. Next weekend is a series at Bemidji, which is huge. A sweep of them would give NU a sizeable conference lead and further dampen Bemidji's hopes.

WMU is just 3 points behind CCHA leader Miami, who has 10 points. We just went down to Ohio State and took 3 of a possible 4 points which is HUGE for us considering we're such a young team. And our netminder, Daniel Belissimo who has been the starter since he stepped on campus as a freshman 2 years ago (he's now a junior) might be losing his job.

And MSU (I'm not as nuts about them in hockey like I am for MSU in other sports, since they play WMU) also has 7 points in CCHA play.

I'm glad to see that there is a NCAA Hockey thread because I like college hockey a lot better than the NHL. It's a little dissapointing to see no WCHA love in this thread (I'm a big Gophers fan and have season tickets - with their insane freshman class and senior leadership, they're going all the way this year), but it's understandable seeing the locations of everyone else posting.

To the Badgers fan, yeah it's looking like it's going to be a long season for you guys. Can't wait to play you next weekend.
