Wherewolves - The Night Before / The Morning After
Record Label: Boomtown Records
Release Date: July 15, 2009 (Australia)

Who?

Wherewolves (formerly A Year To Remember) are a four piece indie/pop/electronic band from Brisbane, Australia. After a successful debut EP Targets and a band name change, Wherewolves picked up right where they left off with catchy pop songs and even more catchy choruses.

How Is It?

The Night Before... is further proof that this band is well on its way to the top. Whilst not making too much progression in terms of sound from the debut EP, they've certainly become far, far better at what they do. The impossibly danceable and catchy "Tokyo" shows the band's favoured use of synth to such effect that it will have you dancing around for days. Vocally, it's great, pitch-perfect throughout, and the same can be said for the guitar work and drums. It's an all round fantastic EP that will leave you wanting more from Wherewolves.

Recommended If You LikeMotion City Soundtrack, Hellogoodbye, Farewell, Kisschasy's "Hymns For The Non-Believer"

Choice Cuts"Tokyo", "Out To Kill"

At one point in time, I was practically obsessed by A Year To Remember's We Stayed. I never knew they were Australian till I heard that particular song on Bondi Rescue and decided to check them out. I loved the EP, haven't checked their new stuff yet but I'll definitely do so. Great review.
