Over the summer, I bought a book called "Chariots of the Gods" by Eric Von Daniken (sp). He believes that extraterrestrials were the first inhabitants of this earth and that we are actually decedents of them and that they did and still do exist. There is a lot more stuff in the book that I can't recall off the top of my head but the way that he argues his theories... really makes the reader believe.

Has any one read this book? If not... what do you think about this topic anyway?

it's already been thought of...that some of the basic compounds for life emerged from comets from other planets and whatnot...meh...it's nice to think of like "ya, it'd be kool to say we're all aliens"...but I dunno...oh well.

I saw some special where he was down in Peru or somewhere where they had custom to elongate the child's head and he believe that they did this so that their children could look like those great aliens.

Plus there was some mirror or something shiny that they kept on top of a pyramid and he believed this to be a kind of signal for the aliens to land. And his ideas are entertaining and sometimes intriguing, but sometimes he can be really really farfetched.

that's pretty interesting. do you happen to remember when you saw that special? there was a time when i was incredibly fascinated by all of this alien stuff, but i got really busy. i'd like to get back into it now though.

but i agree, some of his theories do seem a bit unlikely. he does manage to put up a good argument regardless.

i've read it and even though it seems far out there, he presents some very interesting proposals that have caused me to at least consider the possibility
