I think the review focuses too much on the Jays negatives, even though I don't see them. Loving the whole album throughout, and think I will for a long time

Both Jay and Kanye have done better, but I still really enjoy the album. I didn't think Jay's shortcomings were as prevalent as the review makes them out to be, he's not at his best but he has some really solid verses. But I see where the review comes from. It's definitely a solid album with some jams.

the shower's in the toilet
this album is not about "who out-rapped who," and have an opinion on who did so is irrelevant. it's two dudes fucking making an album because they feel like it. neither ye or jay have anything to prove: they've already gotten there. so acting as if this album is some sort of competition between the two is obnoxious.

Streaming this at work now. Nothing's really hitting me that hard.

I got a lion in my pocket I'm lying
The beats are what makes this album so exciting. And Jay killed "welcome to my jungle," it had one of the best verses of the album. I also enjoyed the Dexter intro being thrown in a few times.

Album is great. Catchy, great beats, take out Beyonce and it would be even better LOL. I see what you mean with Jay and now that you have pointed it out I kinda notice the same.

I thought you said forever...
Great review. Still need to give some more time for the album to sink in, but though it's probably not either one's greatest effort, it's definitely enjoyable. I can't get enough of Ye's production and I've already got one liners swimming around in my head. Early favorites are No Church In The Wild, ****** in Paris, Who Gon Stop Me, Murder To Excellence, and Why I Love You.

wes craven with x cravings.
Frank Ocean almost single-handedly makes two songs. Your track listing is also wrong (and had me confused).
1. No Church in the Wild (feat. Frank Ocean)
2. Lift Off (feat. Beyoncé)
3. ****** in Paris
4. Otis (feat. Otis Redding)
5. Gotta Have It
6. New Day
7. That's My Bitch
8. Welcome to the Jungle
9. Who Gon Stop Me
10. Murder to Excellence
11. Made in America (feat. Frank Ocean)
12. Why I Love You (feat. Mr Hudson)
13. Illest Motherfucker Alive
16. The Joy (feat. Curtis Mayfield)
That's what I get for mindlessly copying and pasting at 1:30 in the morning. Thanks for pointing that out.

From how people were sounding throughout the boards, I was expecting a worse review. Enjoyed this record.

I'm still holding off on listening to this until I can pick up the CD. I'm still really excited.

this album may see the bottom half of my top-ten. expectations aside, it's strong enough, and there isn't a "bad" song on here.
