Oh, I had no idea he was playing it that often, that's cool, I guess there's a chance I'll be able to hear it. I've already heard Jungleland, so the need to hear that again isn't so pressing.
I don't think he'll ever do Jungleland again, of all the songs in his back catalogue that is the one song that truly belongs to Clarence. I hear his nephew is doing well with the E Street band though, so maybe they'll pass the song down through the generations. I wouldn't be surprised if it has been retired for good though, which would be a shame, because it's such a magnificent song. Understandable though I suppose. |
Yeah, last tour, I saw him do "Born in the USA" and the Born to Run album, so I had a lot of my bases covered there. Sort of surprised he hasn't played it yet on this tour, but a lot of the songs from that album have been slowly making appearances, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if it makes a debut soon.
"Jungleland" is probably retired, but I have split feelings about that. I'm glad I got to see them do it with Clarence, and I think retiring is would be a good honor to him, but on the other hand, its one of the greatest songs ever written, and Jake Clemons killed every single solo they through his way when I saw them last month: it would be a damn shame to never give him a chance at the real monster.
