I've been waiting for somebody to say this.

I don't think this is anything new. Bands like Panic at the Disco have received similar hype. I think people forget just how intertwined all this music is. Lovedrug, MGMT, Manchester, all of the Internet age, all good bands.

As much as I hate hipsters and the music that comes along with the territory, this was a pretty weak argument.

Somebody is jealous that somebody is making money and selling, and they aren't.

I hate Lovedrug. And they sounded absolutely awful when I saw them with Copeland and Lydia.

MGMT is not that good. Most people who like them only like the two dance-like songs they have and don't realize the rest of the album is just unmemorable trying-to-be-psychedelic bullshit. Also, they are a TERRIBLE live act. You can tell the two guys in the band just aren't used to playing with their hired guns.

In terms of the "hipster bullshit" music, I'm much more partial to that than 90% of the music Ap.net reports on (seriously, I'll take Vampire Weekend over Saves The Day ANYTIME).

No, hipsters were always around to some degree. We're just getting older and becoming more receptive to them.
