xAFBx are calling it quits "due to a conflict of members." The band is booking a final European tour.

Guitarist Jesse Biesner has left Rose Funeral.

Behemoth have set Evangelion as the title of their upcoming, ninth full-length. The album is due out this summer via Metal Blade Records.

Mightier Than Sword Records has signed Maryland's In the Hollows (featuring members of Champion, Ruiner, and Pulling Teeth). The group will release a self-titled digital EP and 7" on May 26th.

Exodus' Live at Wacken, a live CD/DVD, is currently in the works.

Narrows new album, New Distances, can be pre-ordered (along with a T-shirt) here. The album will be released on May 12th via Deathwish Inc. with a vinyl counterpart coming shortly after.

Bassist Dan Kenny (ex-Animosity) has joined Suicide Silence.

Southern Lord Records has signed Washington's The Accused. The group will release The Curse of Martha Splatterhead in August.

Darkest Hour have completed recording their new album, The Eternal Return. Victory Records will release it on June 23rd.

Drummer AJ Barrette and bassist Eric Koruschak have left The Showdown "to spend more time with their families and other responsibilities at home." They have been replaced by Yogi Watts (Demon Hunter) and Jeremiah Scott (Destroy Destroy Destroy), respectively.

Recommendation of the Week

This week's round-up is a bit late because I attended New England Metal and Hardcore Festival in Worcester this weekend. The festival was featured Lamb of God, All That Remains, As I Lay Dying, Between the Buried and Me, and about 80 other bands. Although the lineup wasn't as strong as it has been in years past, it was a great time with something for any fan of heavy music. Bands that I caught who deserve more recognition include Coliseum, Unholy, Century, Trapped Under Ice, The Destro, The Crimson Armada, and Austrian Death Machine. Also be sure to check out that Fight Pretty download. It's a free album from a great band, so there's no way you can lose.

Not really feeling the new Zao track.

Narrows is the next best thing to a Botch reunion, which will probably never happen. I love it. Dave Verellen is an incredibly talented vocalist.
