I know some disagree, but I think this is a band doing what they are best at ... at their best. It's confident, it's angry and it's intelligent without being patronizing. I'm a big fan of The Terror State and For Blood and Empire, but this is the same band with a new state of mind, amplified by their personal struggles and making what I think could be regarded as one of their career highlights.
It's awesome to see a review for this album so early. When I heard the news Anti-Flag signed on SideOneDummy, I was practically dancing. SideOne is home to some of my favorite bands, as mentioned in the review... Gaslight Anthem and Fake Problems.
Anti-Flag has openly stated they weren't satisfied with RCA and unhappy with the direction Bright Lights took. From what I've heard, the new album is a return to form for Anti-Flag. I think this is the start of something beautiful. I'm officially stoked.
Oh, and now people can fucking quit talking shit about them being sell outs.
