i love how the site is called absolute punk and there are reviews for neil diamond - everyones favorite punk rocker... i get the idea that your trying to be as inclusive as possible, but this site should be for music that we consider to be in our "scene" not to knock neil or anything, but cmon...

Why not step outside your box and check out a great album? Is it wrong to expose people to great music, regardless of the genre? Fuck the scene anyways. I'm so sick of it and everything involved in it, and I think most of us could agree that this website has expanded far and above the realm of "punk" anyways. For a full rundown of the "absolutepunk" name, read the FAQ, but the short version of it is - we don't care.

Common Complaints (in the FAQ section)
You're Not Punk

Correct. We're not. Most of the music we talk about isn't punk either. Our name comes from the music that has evolved out of what was once punk music. If you want us to change our URL, buy us a new one and we will get it all linked up.

this record is not new. It's over 2 months old at this point. And I think it is funny that it is now "trendy" to like Neil Diamond. Sort of like Johnny Cash. 14 year old kids act like they like Johnny Cash all of a sudden...but they can't name 4 songs by him.

You can blame Hot Topic for selling the t-shirts. Same for people like Miles Davis.

1. It is under 2 months old. Can't call it new anymore? Interesting, considering people still refer to things like "the new Starting Line record" to distinguish it from other ones, so that holds no weight.

2. It's trendy to like Neil Diamond? Since when? He released an excellent record. Sometimes people read into things too much, it's why I hate the scene.

to jawkneephighv - Johnny Cash is incredible.
