I had no idea Jason got to listen to he new Mute Math. Jealous.

I'd say Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix is probably my album of the year so far. Maybe St. Vincent being a close 2nd.

A lot of these albums weren't actually released in the first half of the year, though. It's a bit like mentioning 2010 albums in a year-end list, but whatev.

Anyway.

1. Manchester Orchestra
2. Animal Collective
3. Shook Ones
4. O Pioneers!!!
5. Thursday
6. Cursive
7. This Town Needs Guns
8. Mansions
9. Incendiary
10. Gifts from Enola

Still have to fully digest: Poison the Well /// mewithoutYou /// Alexisonfire /// Vicious Cycle ///

I don't have an actual list. But I will say that these albums have amazed me...

All the Day Holiday - The Things We've Grown to Love
As Cities Burn - Hell or High Water
Architects - Hollow Crown
Set Your Goals - This Will Be the Death of Us
Moving Mountains - Foreword EP
Holding onto Hope - Of the Sea
This Town Needs Guns - Animals
Therefore I Am - The Sound of Human Lives

And one album that came out last year that I just discovered...and is AMAZING...
Defeater - Travels

It's been a decent year so far. A lot of anticipation for the second half!

Everyone go check out All the Day Holiday!

It's great seeing The Dear Hunter and mewithoutYou on a lot of lists. Act III is in constant rotation. It's unlike anything I've ever heard.

wow i cant believe how many people like manchester orchestra and like so much other shitty stuff at the same time. out of all the albums mentioned i enjoyed say anything, between the buried, manchester orch,...but i cant believe nobodys mentioned the RURAL ALBERTA ADVANTAGE holy hell they came out with the best record ive heard in awhile. and also miniature tigers made an awesome debut. i dunno maybe i have shitty taste but i really can only listen to like 5 percent of the artists mentioned above or anywhere else.

edit: kevin devine is cool, i liked mewithoutyou's other album so ill give the new one a shot. and it sucks i havnt seen alkaline trio's agony and ironybeing mentioned. i mean iknow it gets flamed, but so did crimson when it came out. the good tracks are worth it. also, how can dr. dog not be in everybodies list?

That's why it's called a MID-YEAR top 10. Everything released after June isn't mentioned.

By the way... Dr. Dog was 2008; new album just came out. Alkaline Trio was 2008, too. There you go.
