I would rather wait and get an awesome card, than spending the money on a bunch of lackluster cards. Every card should atleast have a co-main. He calls Jon out for having money and cancelling the card though when it was Dana who cancelled the card and has probably 10x the money Jon does. If he was really worried about his fighters like he tries to say he would take the hit and put the card on as is or try to get Sonnen to fight someone as a headliner. I am not that mad at Jones, more so Dana for trying to not take any blame and make Jones look like hes the worst guy ever.
This is definitely just a tough situation for everyone. Literally NO ONE gains anything from this, save for Machida getting his shot quicker than expected, but even then, he doesn't get a full camp. Jones definitely screwed over a lot of fighters by not fighting Chael (who, IMO, wouldn't have been that difficult of a fight for him, especially coming off of a full training camp while Chael is the one on short notice), but it still seems way too harsh for everyone to put all of this pressure 100% on Jones' shoulders. He shouldn't have to be the sole reason for this card happening or not.
I think Dana is speaking in the heat of the moment, but I believe it's mainly because of his disliking of Greg Jackson. He's clearly already had enough of his "boring" game plans and the way he has supposedly ruined fighters. For Dana, Jon not taking this fight was probably just the final straw for Team Jackson.
