Driver Side Impact - 01.07.09

Interviewed by: Linda Ferreira (08/18/09)
The following is a mini interview of generic questions that we posed to all bands that wanted to answer:

Driver Side Impact - (Mark Woodbridge) [myspace] [ap.net profile]

1. How did you get your band name?
I can't remember who, but somebody just thought of it. Pretty uneventful story but just being honest here!

2. How did this band get started?
Jack and Teddy went to school together and decided to start a band. Soon after, Zach, Mikey, and Branden came into the picture, through networking.

3. What bands are you influenced by?
Thursday, Taking Back Sunday, Jimmy Eat World, Saves The Day, Hopesfall, Angels and Airwaves, TREOS, Saosin.

4. If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would it be and why?
Genesis, because Phil Collins is the man, and that band shares some similar characteristics we use.... spacey guitars, complex drums, danceable rhythms.

5. If you were a furry, what animal would you be? Why that animal?
I would be a lion... Get it?? King of the jungle!!

6. Why should people listen to your band?
People should listen to us because musically we are risktakers, always experimenting with sounds and ideas. We want keep ourselves interested, and so should you!

7. If you were chosen to be in Guitar Hero/Rock Band, what song would you want in the game? How hard do you think it would be to five-star on expert?
I would pick walking on water, it has a lot of elements of guitar hero viability as well as its really fun to play live. Expert is always hard, I don't even think I've gotten through a song, I doubt I would of our own!

8. If you won a Grammy, who would you thank?
Honestly.. Ace of base. They were the first real band I ever listened to and bought their music.

9. If you could change something about the music industry, what would it be?
Ii would change the aspect of doing favors and some of the politics behind decision making. I've seen some unbelievable bands never make it, and visa versa, and its usually about favors and politics. But other than that, downloading.. Please pay us a lil somethin for our tunes!

10. Memorable tour experience?
hp imports, on tour with Mayday Parade. We played a junk yard venue.. literally. But it was an amazing show and a ton of kids showed up!

11. What does AP.net mean to you?
An internet site that the majority of the music industry goes to read up on reviews and new exciting updates and information. Not bad for a site that started as a blink forum!! Kudos

12. What is your favorite song to play?
The lion right now. It has all the aspects that make us who we are; it's an important piece for us.

13. What is your vacation spot of choice?
Cape Cod, Mass!!!!

14. What music reminds you of your childhood?
Oldies for sure, I was brought up by the Beatles and Temptations and Elvis.

15. If you could have any super power, what would it be? Why?
The power to travel for free, and the power to pick what we are fed by the venues we play every night.

16. Do you feel that your band has "made it"?
Definitely not. We have seen a lot of successful moments, but its coming. 09 look out!

17. What is something that most fans don't know about you?
I'm Mark, and I used to play for Dear Whoever. Check them out!

18. What's your favorite holiday?
My birthday, haha, or Halloween.

19. What do you like to do in your spare time?
Hang out with my friends and learn new instruments. I'm sorta a jock and am really into hockey too.

20. What kind of hidden talents do you have?
I used to play travel hockey for seven years, I can dislocate my shoulder on command, and I can make a mean quesadilla!!

haha, hp imports in jacksonville, nc. one time, my band was playing there and we forgot a mic stand so we made one out of a caged worklight on a stand. it really was like a junkyard garage venue.
