the heavier songs were not completed in time for the release date.. thats why they didn't end up on the record..
this shit would never happen on an indie label

Maybe Saosin didn't sell out but they traded in their winning formula for a weak radio-friendly version that's uninspired, generic and just plain boring. Still disappointed by this album!

EDIT: And Beau, use correct English when you blog! You look like an illiterate buffoon when you write like that. And it's "brevity".

I have to admit that I was some what dissapointed when I heard fewer riffs and less heavy drumming from these guys, but that doesn't mean they're diminishing as musicians
i agree, i was disappointed with that as well, but i still dig this album. good review.

Reading the top of the review, I was like, "WTF, this is absolute shit, it's not punctuated properly.. it's a mess".

Then I scrolled down haha. Good review

So did Autotune sing on this album? From what I've heard, Cove does the live performances, but Autotune covers the recordings.

An Average 26% for a score makes me not want to spend money buying it.

Why cant you see is the only song in the record that has gotten stuck in my head.
None of the other songs really stand out!

noted. i dont mind it. I feel like people need to just look/listen at the CD by itself... the problem with Saosin is that no matter what they put out, people keep comparing it to their older work... but I love and respect those guys so thats just me.

I personally liked ISOSG. True, the album was not as exciting as Anthony Green era work or the S/T (which I loved every song), but there are still gems on this ablum.

The mixes of the songs that came off of the Grey EP for the album are not as strong as the mixes from the Grey EP itself, and I love the song "Keeping Secrets", but do not like the new vox on the Album mix. Cove's sreaming breakdown section on the Grey EP blew me away and was very good and exciting, but it was not as powerful on the album version. Still, "I keep my secrest safe" and "Worst of me (Love Maker)" are still good songs in my mind.

The true shining track from the album is "On My Own" as it is the closest to the previous catalog and has an amazing breakdown and excellent progression. I love this track personally, and feel it is a very strong showcase of Saosin's talent.
