If Obama follows through with his pressure on Congress to repeal DADT , then I think the smart play would to try and push for DOMA's repeal as well. I've said it before and I'll say it again-- fighting this on the state level is a recipe for disaster. If it's defeated federally the states will all fall in line.

I voted for equal rights. That's what gets taught in school, not how and who to marry. People also need to realize that marriage has nothing to do with god or religion. That's just pomp and ceremony. You actually get married when you complete the paper work for a marriage license, and then you can begin joining all aspects of your estates. That's essential, especially if you have a family. Denying these rights of equality hurts and hampers a lot of people and families. Everyone is the same. Doesn't matter who you want to join with.

Unfortunately, I am almost positive that it will be repealed. What's in the bible doesn't apply to modern times. People use their religion to hide the fact that they are extremely homophobic and they just don't want a bunch of "queers" getting married and being happy like everyone else. Sad but true.
