Unbelievable, But True Looking for the perfect holiday gift for that music junky in your life? The Music Tee offers complete albums (plus a variety of compilations) in a T-shirt format, reviving “album art” as an integral part of the musical experience.

This holiday season, The Music Tee is rolling out new Music Tees from Monsters of Folk, Devandra Banhart, Lissy Trullie, Shwayze, Band of Skulls, Har Mar Superstar, The Asteroids Galaxy Tour and many others, all of which are available at TheMusicTee.com. Previously released (and still available) tees include Mos Def, Amanda Blank, The Plastiscines, Sliimy, Third Eye Blind and others.

A joint venture between L.A.-based music innovator Invisible DJ and Girlie Action, each Music Tee contains album art on the front, with a track list on the back. Each shirt comes with a hang-tag that contains a unique code, allowing the owner to download the album (track list) from TheMusicTee.com. The Music Tee is registered with Nielsen SoundScan so each download counts as an album sale once the download is complete.

You're probably right. It's really just album artwork on a shirt and a download code to get the album. The shirt doesn't actually sing. But who knows? I hope it works out.

Or you could just write the bands name on the front of a white tee with sharpie and then torrent the album.

Just considering the alternatives.

i was hoping maybe it would be set up where one requests what album they want on their shirt, and they make the shirts to order...but i'm sure 99% of the bands they make shirts of i won't enjoy so nevermind

There really isn't any reason I'd want to buy something like this. I think having the tracklist on the back would make it look pretty stupid, and I'd much rather get a band shirt.

I'll admit I didn't read that the info was in the replies lol... I just clicked on "Girlie Action"'s link and saw nothing about it.
