I would argue their last CD went out of their comfort zone and strayed away from the traditional rock format. Unfortunately a lot of people didn't take too well to that, but that's their issue, not mine. I've loved all their stuff, and these demos sound really awesome. |
To me, all the tracks on
Sucker Punch Show sound like b-sides from Everything Starts but weren't included for good reasons... I personally think it's a very boring album. What made
Pretend You're Alive so special and so promising for a new band at the time was that they showed that they can experiment and have range, one that could evolve into something really fantastic. Unfortunately, it seems like this band has de-dregessed more than progressed. They're working backwards, sounding more standard with each album.
For awhile I honestly believed that these guys had the potential of being the next Radiohead or Muse... but they are moving farther and farther away from that idea with each release.
