I just began looking at Brouwer's fixed-point theorem and Sperner's lemma in terms of Graph Theory, but can't tell you a single thing about it.

hmm i've never done it in terms of graph theory, only in terms of metric spaces.

it's really easy. the % sign is just a different way to express numbers, which seems to come in handy sometimes.

% means 1/100, so you can always replace the % sign with 1/100. for example 12% = 12*1/100= 0.12

you usually use the % sign in combination with another number, like 10% of 120.
this means nothing less than (10*1/100)*120 = 0.1*120 = 12, so 10% of 120 equals 12.

Can you help me out with this question on vectors? I absolutely hate vectors and conveniently I missed the lesson in which they were taught. I haven't had time to revise it that well yet, so I'm completely lost when it comes to the questions.

This question, I can answer part (i) fine, but part (ii) I can't quite figure out.

The line q has the equation r = j + k + s(i - 2j + k)
The plane p has the equation x + 2y + 3z = 5

(i) Show that the line q lies on the plane p.
(ii) A second plane is perpendicular to the plane p, parallel to the line q and contains the point with position vector 2i + j + 4k. Find the equation of this plane, giving answers in the form ax + by + cz = d.

Edit: Nevermind, got it.

I got an A when I took it last winter, but it was just the first course in the series of two and I didn't take the second one. I think we stopped just short of learning about rings. I may not be too much help, but if you have a question you should post it anyway and someone can probably answer it.

I love factorials. They always make me laugh during a boring lecture, because it looks funny having an exclamation mark after a number.
