UK Music Round-Up TOP 10 SINGLES - 15TH OCTOBER “Meet Me Halfway” – Black Eyed Peas “Happy” – Leona Lewis “Everyone in Love” – JLS “Fight for the Love” – Cheryl Cole “I Need You” – N-Dubz “Tik Tok” – Ke$ha “3” – Britney Spears “About A Girl” – Sugababes “Down” - Jay Sean feat. Lil Wayne “Bad Boys” – Alexandra Burke feat. Flo Rida TOP 10 ALBUMS - 15TH OCTOBER “JLS” – JLS “Reality Killed The Video Star” – Robbie Williams “Up to Now” – Snow Patrol “Coming Home” – The Soldiers “The E.N.D.” – Black Eyed Peas “Crazy Love” – Michael Bublé “3 Words” – Cheryl Cole “Only Revolutions” – Biffy Clyro “Greatest Hits” – Foo Fighters “Soulbook” – Rod Stewart This is the Black Eyed Peas third number one of the year, following the success of “Boom Boom Pow” and “I Gotta Feeling” earlier on in the year. The last act to have three number ones in a calendar year was Elvis Presley when the iconic performers’ number one singles were re-issued in 2005. So, yeah, Fergie and Elvis Presley officially have something in common. New entries include Leona Lewis , N-Dubz , Britney Spears and Sugababes .
The self-titled album by X-Factor runner-ups JLS narrowly beats Robbie Williams to the top of the album chart – quite fitting consider the title of William’s album. Other new entries in the albums chart include Snow Patrol ’s two-desk compilation “Up To Now” (which includes the band’s “best love tracks” as well as material from their side-project The Reindeer Section ), as well as the fifth album from Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro . The other new entry is Rod Stewart , ‘cause grandmothers need records too.

Various iPod and iTunes related problems, along with a mass of university work, have meant my time for discovering new music has been pretty slight. This past week I’ve been “jamming” the new Animal Collective EP that leaked, Fall Be Kind. It sounds pretty perfect for these autumnal, early dark nights kind of days.
The Maccabees cover of Roy Orbison’s “I Drove All Night” which can be heard here .

Haha, I didn't know AP cover him at all, I saw him play a tiny show in my hometown last year supporting Frank Hamilton (a acoustic folk artist who plays a lot of gigs around Guildford). He seemed like a nice guy.
EDIT: Having gone to his site, I have no idea why I didn't check him out sooner. There's some really solid tracks there. Ordered.

This, it's quite worrying to see how appalling the music is here right now.
