08:14 PM on 12/03/09 | DIGITAL HOLIDAY ALBUM — GIFT WRAPPED: 20 SONGS THAT KEEP ON GIVING — IS TOP MULTI-ARTIST HOLIDAY COMPILATION ON ITUNES
20-SONG COLLECTION — WHICH FEATURES HOLIDAY FAVORITES FROM MICHAEL BUBLÉ, JACK’S MANNEQUIN, MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE, R.E.M., BLAKE SHELTON, AND MANY MORE — IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE EXCLUSIVELY FROM ITUNES FOR ONLY $7.99
DATELINE — Burbank, CA — Warner Bros. Records digital holiday album, Gift Wrapped: 20 Songs That Keep On Giving, is currently the top multi-artist holiday compilation on iTunes, sitting at No. 4 on the digital retailer’s Holiday Album chart and No. 11 on the Overall Album chart. The entire collection is now available exclusively at iTunes for just $7.99.
The success has been fueled by the popularity of Michael Bublé’s live version of “Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow,” (previously unavailable digitally on its own), as well as My Chemical Romance’s take on Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” Other highlights include Jack’s Mannequin’s “Lights and Buzz” (previously unavailable digitally), and the Flaming Lips’ “A Change At Christmas (Say It Isn’t So).” In addition to the My Chemical Romance and Jack’s Mannequin tracks, contributions by Mêlée, Jeremy Lister, Blake Shelton, and R.E.M., have never been available for sale until now.
In keeping with the holiday spirit, Gift Wrapped features both Christmas and Hanukkah songs, and includes classic standards and unique originals from artists spanning a variety of genres. The artists include those mentioned above, plus The Used, Regina Spektor, Tyler Hilton, The Brian Setzer Orchestra, Randy Travis, Dwight Yoakum, Relient K, as well as several of Warner Bros. Records’ most promising newcomers: Never Shout Never, Foxy Shazam, Meaghan Smith, Whitney Duncan, and Nikki & Rich (who contributed an original song). | | |
