Hey all - I just posted my review for Downtown Singapore's excellent Matt Squire-produced full-length debut, Don't Let Your Guard Down. The record is out now on DCide Records - I highly recommend picking it up.
1 of my good friends is best friends with a lot of them from when they were really young. the ex bass player is in his band now. theyre really cool guys and need to blow up into a big time band, i think they can do it.

This is an improvement on their EP, but it's still pretty eh. They're trying too hard to sound like Thursday for the majority of the album. An alternate opinion.

Well written, but I think the parallels you draw are way off-base. Thursday? TGUK? I don't hear it.
nice, i love these guys. i disagree with the album being totally like "Those" bands, i think they tend to have a lot more of straight-up rock-pop feel, and the anthemic rock thing you mentioned. like TREOS with a lot more pop/catchiness to it. it's his vocals that make you think of MAH, not the music itself.
according to me, ha.
