How is an artist in their 3rd active decade going to beat out a whole generation of new artists who are actually progressing the state of music. dont get me wrong i grew up on greenday but 2000-present is not their heyday.

i loved american idiot when it first came out, granted it was all over the radio and they made a video for half of the songs on the album so everyone knew the songs. if that never happened and it didnt have the huge success that it did i would probably still listen to the whole thing daily. it really is great, the two 9 minute songs are amazing
