the drummer doesn't play the same beat during the verses that he does on the record... i miss that beat (its so damn groovy and makes you want to dance). i also agree that the sound guy could have done a better job with the overall mix. on the record, the instruments almost drown out the vocals, which maybe makes this live performance seem awkward (because the vocals are much louder than anything else).
the chorus line of children ("higher and higher and higher") kind of sounds goofy... I feel like there's enough members on stage that they could've sang this part themselves. I always dislike it when bands do backup vocals live through a computer.
to those complaining about lack of bass... i believe the keys are playing the bass line. i mean, there is a full ampeg rig on stage, so i assume one of the keyboard players are playing through it. (EDIT, on second look, there's a bass guitar sitting next to it... so maybe no one is actually playing through the rig?)
i love this record, but i have to admit that this is another typical band that puts out a great record in the studio but if you were to ever see them live you would be totally let down.
