I don't blame him. That guitar player OBVIOUSLY wanted to be the frontman from On the Run (sang the MAJORITY of the album). I would be mad being the frontman and having a guitarist that is obviously gunning for your position. I still love the band btw, haha!
this! but i do think caleb is a better singer/song writer and enjoy his songs more. he also sings droppin dimes on rising moon. are you seriously into the new album? i tried and tired but gave up and am forced to believe its garbage. should i try again?
This band may as well be called "The Caleb Experience"
Can't say I didn't see this coming. It's such a fucking shame too. I love this band, but it seems that Caleb is a total control freak...or just wrote a majority of the music. He's a super talented guy, but share the mic man. After I BARELY heard Kevin on On The Run I saw them live and he just banged on the tambourine. It's like they had to give him something else to do. I don't think I heard him all that much on this newer album either.
I don't want them to call it quits and until Caleb leaves I think the name can be continued. Caleb is a better singer than Kevin and he does write better. The new album isn't great but it is listenable.
This is a real shame, I loved when they properly had a three-pronged singer approach ... I found it odd but not too worryin that Kevin sort of took a back seat for On The Run but yeah, not at all a fan of Notes From Underground.
I'm guessing he left because he wanted to make more poppy songs than on NFU and maybe, though its all speculation, the whole Caleb singing thing.
