i agree actually. pre-major label i never listened to that style of music. i hated it. a girl i was this told me to just have an open ear for it and i did and the next day i bought 'waking the fallen' and i played it over and over and over...it got me into that genre of music. i still listen to them even though they're not like 'waking the fallen' anymore but a7x are responsible for turning me onto new music.

i could have cared less about the painkillers...do i know Tom? no..so i don't care. Sometimes people turn to drugs, or other things, because of something traumatic...it just happens. sometimes they turn to drugs because they want to experiment (i did....with coke...and i'm still alive, btw...don't do it anymore). i just wish people didn't think in black and white...sometimes life happens and people do things they should not but it does not make them any less than others.

while i wasnt a big fan of the band (even though city of evil had some solid tunes), "the rev" was an insane drummer that had great talent.

their self-titled went Gold and they were working on a new album. i sitll like them, they're one of those bands were you have to just give a chance. i hated it at first but i actually like it now.

Kinda weird to die of natural causes at 28. R.I.P. though. This is really sad & unfortunate. My thoughts are with the band & his family.

for all you saying it's weird to die of natural causes at 28.... i had a teacher die at the age of 28. totally straight edge. no drugs involved and they honestly said his heart just stopped. no problem medical history or anything. it happens! don't automatically go jumping on the drug bandwagon until the autopsy is done.

Love the band or hate the band, he was a fantastic drummer and from interviews i've seen of the band, seemed like a really great guy. Prayers for him and his family and the band. One of metals tightest drummers whether you like to admit it or not.

he was such a good composer.

Experiment, fine. But don't get addicted no matter what. Better yet, people shouldn't experiment in the first place. People should realize there are better things than drugs to turn to in bad situations.

Eating fast food for fifty years is the same thing to me so we shouldn't care when people have heart attacks since they knew the risk.
