Didn't like American Beauty or didn't see it?

I wasn't a big fan. Loved Kevin Spacey in it, but beyond that didn't like it a whole lot. I hate Revolutionary Road though.

Like American Beauty a lot, like Jarhead, didn't hate Revolutionary Road as much as most but still didn't think it was very good.

I didn't like Jarhead either and I'm not really sure why. I'm not a big fan of either Jake Gyllenhaal or Jamie Foxx so maybe that was it...I think I might have to see it again. Most of his films are undoubtedly well made, I just don't like the stories/characters a lot of the time. Road to Perdition was one of my favorite films of last decade though, so I don't know.

I like Gyllenhaal quite a bit, not a huge fan of Foxx but he was alright. Road to Perdition was very good, loved all the performances and seeing Paul Newman one last time was really cool.

Yeah, I've started liking Gyllenhaal a lot more lately, thanks to things like Zodiac, so maybe I'd enjoy the film more now. Foxx isn't a bad actor, but something about him has just always bothered me...and I'm still kind of upset that he won that Oscar.

Paul Newman was great and I really enjoyed seeing Hanks play a role like that. It was just a beautiful looking film as well.

I'd rather see his adaptation of Preacher than this, but I'm certainly not against it as many seem to be. I think Mendes can handle it, especially in the vain of Road to Perdition.

Liked a lot of performances that year better, which isn't to say his was bad, but off the top of my head I liked Deep in Finding Neverland better, Cheadle in Hotel Rwanda, and Dicaprio in Aviator.

I just really didn't like Ray as a film and wasn't that impressed with Foxx in the title role. I thought he was better in supporting that year, where he was also nominated.

I haven't liked a Bond film (as an adult) since the originals. The Pierce Bronsan stuff (as much as I loved them as a kid and loved the games) just don't do anything for me anymore. Most of the old Bond films have lost their luster for me.

I really enjoyed the Daniel Craig movies though, and I especially like the way they are treating Bond more like a spy and less like a superhero, even though the over-the-top Bond elements remain.

Only Brosnan film I liked at all was Goldeneye, and that was a Martin Campbell. Hope the same doesn't happen with Craig.

Miss the good old Pierce Brosnan days?

I actually enjoyed Brosnan. But, hell, I'd take Timothy Dalton any day over Craig.

You realize that Casino Royale was the best Bond film since like...Goldfinger, right?

And by "best" you must mean boring. God that movie bored me to tears, except for the airport scene.

Not gonna argue with you but Craig is my favorite Bond other than Connery and Casino Royale is probably the 2nd or 3rd best bond ever.
