In terms of live performance, TDWP takes the cake [right now] since they've got MUCH more experience and just put on a great live show. In the recordings, Mike's screams are the same throughout and becomes tiresome, and open guitar chugs only go so far, but individually they're all good musicians especially Jeremy & Daniel. The orchestration in WCAR is great, Dave knows how to change up the screams and sounds damn good, and the band as a whole just seems better, at least if you compare both bands' first full lengths. But then again, it's just an opinion...
Did you check out the EP? The full length was kind of a disappointment. I didn't like the re-recordings of the EP songs (too much autotune and over produced) and the new songs just didn't really add anything in my opinion. The song lineup in Dreams was fantastic, the new song order was kind of bleh. Some of the lyrics went down, too.
"My future started with the first note I ever played.
The first note that was ever sang." It's just kind of embarrassing when I listen to the album and I hear him sing that. A bit too cheesy for my tastes.
