HHHEY i live in toledo.

i feel like this show is gonna be HEAVEN for xcore kids, but for the rest of us, we won't really be able to tell the difference between any of the bands right up until prada gets up.
might as well be the same crappy local/tri state screamo/whatever band the whole show through.

deeead serious.
idk how you could play at a festival like this and think for .0002 seconds your band is doing something either

a) fresh or original
b) not totally ripping off of the ACTUAL headliners
c) not feel INSANELY foolish that there are like 40 other bands there that sounds JUST LIKE YOU.

and nooo i didn't get up on the wrong side of the bed lol. sorry for the rant, just do NOT understand the point of shows where all the bands sound exactly the same ya know? I thought the point of festivals was to get a lot of sweet DIFFERENT sounding bands together....but i could TOTALLY be wrong....?

these are all the same bands.
you can go for the first 3 bands, and you've already heard every song by everyone else.

This festival isn't nearly as bad as Bamboozle, though I know we have a lot of metalcore haters here.

We Came As Romans had a strong EP, The Color Morale is tight as fuck. DWP is decent for the genre. For the Fallen Dreams is awesome. I still really like Whitechapel. Like Moths to Flames has Chris Roetter in it - enough said. A lot of the bands I honestly haven't heard of. So people who hate this genre can bitch about it elsewhere, these are definitely some of the best and respectable bands within it for the most part. No Pierce the Veil, Attack Attack! or I See Stars, Brokencyde, etc.

In terms of live performance, TDWP takes the cake [right now] since they've got MUCH more experience and just put on a great live show. In the recordings, Mike's screams are the same throughout and becomes tiresome, and open guitar chugs only go so far, but individually they're all good musicians especially Jeremy & Daniel. The orchestration in WCAR is great, Dave knows how to change up the screams and sounds damn good, and the band as a whole just seems better, at least if you compare both bands' first full lengths. But then again, it's just an opinion...

Did you check out the EP? The full length was kind of a disappointment. I didn't like the re-recordings of the EP songs (too much autotune and over produced) and the new songs just didn't really add anything in my opinion. The song lineup in Dreams was fantastic, the new song order was kind of bleh. Some of the lyrics went down, too.

"My future started with the first note I ever played.
The first note that was ever sang." It's just kind of embarrassing when I listen to the album and I hear him sing that. A bit too cheesy for my tastes.
