I agree that it's the best song so far. However, if you think you're going to hear a replica of the Pumpkins' old sound, i think you might be mistaken. Billy's going in a different direction than he's ever gone before. That doesnt mean the new stuff isn't fantastic, just wait for songs like Circular Change and Emerald Green Is The Colour. And the songs from Teargarden that werent played on the Spirits tour Billy said that he is more confident in, so us fans have something to be super psyched about
Oh no, I never expected a Mellon Collie Pt. 2, I mean in their prime years, the Pumpkins changed sounds a few times, I wouldn't expect them to revisit something they did nearly two decades ago. What I really meant wasn't an old Pumpkins sound, but more of an old Pumpkins feel.
They've been one of my favorite bands ever since Siamese Dream was out, and I've loved their maturation in the 90's, but with the post '07 material, I never got that same old feel I used to. For example, I can put on Adore and get completely lost in it, Corgan's lyrics and vocals carried so much emotion and weight, you could literally hear it in his voice. It was just beautiful songwriting, and song structuring. I wish the newer material would hit me like that. That's not to say I didn't enjoy Zeitgeist or the Rose March EP or any of the Teargarden songs, it's just I hate to see Billy hit doubles when I know he's more than capable of hitting home runs. I still love the Pumpkins and have faith in his work, and I'm very excited whenever a new song is released, and I can't wait to hear what road this new album is going to take.
