May This Finally Bring Closure to Her Family and Friends

Posted by - 03:05 PM on 07/31/06
Olamide Adeyooye's killer has pleaded "guilty" to all charges against him and was given a sentence of life in prison. Her boyfriend, Andy Wildrick of The Junior Varsity has written a statement for the Associated Press below on his reaction.
MessageI have dwelled on this all day and haven't really known how I should
react to this unexpected event. It has taken some thinking.

I am glad that justice was fairly served and that this man will never
see the light of day as a free person again. The people of the
community should sleep better knowing that this man is now
incarcerated.

As far as me, this event marks the final closure for the hardest event
I will ever have to endure in my life. For the last 9 months I have
felt an open wound that could not close. The pain continued as i
heard stories of this mans eratic behavior in the courtroom and the
violence he has caused while behind bars.
There is now nothing left to wait for and that does bring a small
sense of relief.

When I spent my life with olamide, I was deeply affected by her. She
influenced me and was closer to me than any other human in my life.
She taught me how to love and cherish all the people around me. Her
love for me never wavered and I am grateful that I was able to feel
that...even temporarily. I suppose some people may never experience
that feeling. Everything I do for the rest of my days is in respect
to her memory. Every song I ever write will be for her. She affected
me greatly while alive and even moreso since she was stripped away
from her family, friends and myself. I feel blessed that I have a
connection that will stay with Olamide forever. I will always love
her with all my heart and nothing can possibly change that.

Wallace took her in life and now his is being taken away. Its the
only fair measure for what he has done. I can be content knowing this.
If I thought for a second that this man could be as free as olamide
once was then I would not feel like justice has been served.

The integrity of our justice system can remain fully intact only if
this man never has the slightest chance at having any sort of free
life again. My olamide will never experience life again and neither
should he, not even for a second. He must suffer in prison until he
dies for justice to be served. Rest assured, I hope the other inmates
will make this mans life a living hell. I have no regard for his
feelings and want him to feel pain, terror, and fear in the most
extreme ways for the rest of his natural life. I am relieved that he
pleaded guilty and ended this thing but that does not change my hatred
for him and everything he has done to the people that loved Olamide so
much. He is the only person that I will ever hate. He took the one
thing from me that could cause me to hate. It is truly unforgivable.

Sincerely,
Andy wildrick

That song is beautiful. Also, I am glad that this guy is behind bars. I still dont understand how people can end another strangers life for no reason. I am glad justice was served and hope Andy can move on with his life and I know his band deserves to be hugely succesful and I hope for the best for all of them.

I'm glad the man is behind bars. He is a sick and twisted being (I refuse to call him human)

As for everyone else I hope they can move on peacefully.

Has it really been 9months since this happened?? The time has gone so quick. But good news he pleaded guilty. Let's hope his time goes as slow as hell.

I wish their was something more cruel than life in prison for taking someones life, they don't deserve to be put out of thier misery nor do they deserve to see another sunrise. Im glad there is finally closure.

Definitely. And I completely agree with him in that paragraph. I couldn't imagine something like this happening to me; but if it did, I'm sure my feelings would be quite similar.
