Poema (Tooth & Nail) have a new song "City Boy" streaming exclusively on their purevolume page. The song is off their upcoming EP Sing It Now, which you can pre-order here.
I remember when I used to buy everything T&N put out. But now I don't really know or care about any of their artists. It almost seems like the days of record label devotion are over. But Tooth & Nail I just steadily stopped hearing much buzz about most artists on their roster besides a few, unlike:
Victory Records - "Evil!"
Drive-Thru Records - "Incompetent!"
Fueled By Ramen - "Sellout!"
Fearless Records - "Everyone good broke up except the pop-punk bands!"
Fat Wreck Chords - "Have they even released anything?"
Though The Militia Group still blows my mind. As does Triple Crown.
I'm not really into them at all because it feels like their song "Boys and Bugs" is a direct kick to nuts to me, but its cool to see an ABQ band that's NOT brokencyde getting some recognition.
I still wonder if they're the only act T&N has ever signed that doesn't use an electric guitar.
The homemade EP was cute but didn't really say much for their future, as you can't sing high-school-esque songs about crushes once you hit your 20's. This song continues to give me hopes that they will live up to their potential - of which they have a good deal - but I'm still a little wary of the sisters ending up looking like the Christian-lite version of Taylor Swift.
