A moniker like The Great Outdoors suggests music of an organic, woodsy nature, but their style is instead one of spacey sophistication. Their soft, sparkling textures and mildly rhythmic grooves should be welcoming for fans of like-minded bands like As Tall as Lions. The two new songs on the band's myspace page are from their upcoming self-released debut Board Up Our Homes, out April 10th. If this little taste is any indication, this will unquestionably be one band worth keeping an eye on.

FINALLY The Great Outdoors gets the recognition they deserve on AP! This band has a defined and consistent sound that is even better experienced in their excellent live show. The dual vocal parts are refreshing and the songs stick in your head for days.

And Elliot is one fine piece of BROAST beef.

Congrats, The Great Outdoors! Looking forward to picking up the record!

I'm looking forward to hearing more from them... Glad I checked them out. Sometimes I can be a little douchey about listening to unsigned/new music. I agree with Jeremy though, worth keeping an eye on.
