The cast is looking pretty great. I really hope this paves the way for more comic series adaptations into full fledged series (Fables) and miniseries (Y and Preacher) on more daring networks. None of those would work as films. I imagine the success or failure of this will go a long ways toward that end.
Y has been in development for years. The team from Disturbia is doing it.
Only thing that is smart about them doing it is they're using a real monkey for Ampersand.
DJ Caruso and Shia are going to blow it so hard. I really wish it wasn't even getting made if it has to be by them.
Shia staunchly refused to play Yorick at first but is still contemplating it now, I guess. But yeah, you're 100% right. It'll turn into a Michael Bay picture all too quick and go straight into the shitter.
Did you ever have anything less?! Kidding. But as soon as Darabont put his name on it, I was 10000% in. His most recent effort (and his only true foray into horror) is probably my favorite horror film in the past 10 years, so I think he'll be great in continuing with the genre. I honestly don't think I've ever been more excited for a television series.
